i found twin horses born once, and it was just heart wrenching. i felt so helpless.

Yep, weather can be a pain, we hated cold rainy spring weather when we were calving. Invariably there would be a calf born between one of our 'watches" and would be struggling when we found it. We calved out 300 head each spring, we'd always lose a few.

Hopefully the weather will be warming up soon for you. Hang in there.

I've never ate lamb, might have to give it a try sometime....course that would mean I'd need to have more critters around here.

You need a VERY large chicken to slip those babies under to keep them warm.
