More black chicks - pickup in PA

Hi Jody, I am too far from you. However, I have a question. Are the eggs the same color for Bl/Lav as they are for Buffs? I absolutely love the pinkish color of my buff orps and want to keep some as layers for the table. However, Black/Lav would work better with my flock. Thanks!

Wish I was close. Maybe I will stop by this summer on the way back from the south and make a purchase.

Yes, they do tend to have more of the pinky tone. There are some exceptions and much darker eggs, depending on the hen, but most are the pinkish-medium shades of brown right now. I think the shell color tends to lighten a bit with maturity (when the eggs get bigger) as well.
