I love my two faverolle hens I want a rooster yours look like quite nice birds. I would like to buy and incubator and maybe this one would be the right one for me the resale value would probably be good. I also have blue coppers. I can't wait to get eggs from my chicks and hatch some of my own X's and pure blue and black coppers.
How loud is the blue coppers crow and the faverolles?

Nice bator and chickens,
Henry

The favorelle rooster rarely crows; and for the most part only makes noise when either I or the boys are trying to catch him

(he doesn't necessarily like to get caught, but easy to handle once you catch him). The blue copper does crow fairly loudly, but doesn't crow an excessive amount. For the most part however, I don't hear any of my roosters crow anyways unless I am outside (I live on 6+ acres, my house is far enough away from my barn that I can't hear them when I am inside).

Great! I am glad that the incubator is working for you.

ps. we just hatched 4 faverolles. All roos. - that's dissappointing

I am waiting to figure out how many roos/hens I got out of the 10 chicks I just hatched. Hopefully at least one of the orpingtons and 1-2 of the blue chicks are hens (especially the light blue chick...I really the color of it so far

I candled this evening (start of day 14). 12 eggs are developing nicely, 8 show no development (and were discarded). Since Carla was so generous in giving me extras (paid for 15 eggs, got 23...sadly my incubator can only take 20), I really look at it as 12 developing out of 15

Now it is waiting until Sunday night, when I will shut off the turner and put the eggs into cartons for hatching

A couple of notes on my previous hatch - two of the black chicks (blue copper maran / wheaten maran crosses) have brown wing feathers coming in over the black fluff. So I guess I will have some wheaten looking birds after all

The light blue chick, I believe is the buff orpington /blue copper maran cross. The chick's feathers are still coming in a very nice light blue/gray color, no sign of buff or any other color thus far.

The other three darker blue chicks (blue copper maran / wheaten maran cross) wing and tail feathers are coming in a dark blue

The other black chick (which I believe is the austrolop /blue copper maran cross) has black wing feathers, and expect that it will be an all black bird.

Most all the maran chicks are showing light feathering on their legs.

I may post some more pics, once more of their feathers come in.

Zchickens - I have removed the separators in my RCom and set about 26 eggs in it. As long as the eggs are gently touching each other, they will turn even when there are no dividers, as long as it's full. You can check that by doing a test turning before leaving it alone. Just a thought for another time if you have too many eggs!
