More From my Hateful Neighbors

Have you considered house buns? Or are they also limited to 2? When we were on base, we were limited as to what animals we could keep, so I kept my daughter's buns in the garage and added an a/c through the garage window. They were no more work in there than they had been outdoors. Out of sight, out of mind did seem to work in that situation because I got not a single complaint about the bunnies.

Sorry that you have to deal with this. By the way, it's not only us "old folks" who act like this. There are plenty of evil/nasty younger people.

Sourland, thank you for the back up but please don't say "us old folks" when you have me in your quote box.

That's what I'd do, too. Stop parking there, period. And stop weeding her yard. And I agree with sourland, CYA and then turn the tables. And Taz is only "half-old".

And y'all can call me old anytime!

I would go and get those fly bags from WALMART, fill um up and hang them on every pole on your fence. Say that the old people's smell is so bad that is attracting flys to your yard. Give them something to really smell...........................................

We are moving because of our so called "friend" neighbor who called on us about our animals after we wouldn't give them $400 for a pyramid scheme they were doing. Even after we helped them for years at all hours of the night with their computer, well pump, electric etc..............

thanks everyone

Sorry about the generalized comment about the elderly people here. The thing about that is this used to be a closed community for retired people 55 years and older, a lot of the older people who live here only live in their homes half the year. A few years ago they opened up to allow renters and younger people to purchase too. But really about half the folks who live here are 60+. It's ONLY those people who are complaining, seems these older ladies (have had no men complain thus far) have nothing better to do than gossip and call the HOA about things they don't like. Honestly it doesn't suprise me at all, you can tell who's being nice genuinely and whos just coming over to say "hello" to gossip.

Regarding the parking...I've been telling hubby NOT to park there (I never do) since I found out about their "deal" two months ago. How I found out about the yard work thing is when she came to my door...Husband told me NONE of it and he really got to hear about it when he got home that evening.

Last night after I told him what happened and that the Pres told me who was making the complaints he was so very angry, he took his car out of her carport and won't be parking there any more...he was slow at seeing this issue but at least now he's gotten it. I KNEW she was trouble the first time she came knocking on our door and was a total brat about her yard and then when I told her I hadn't been told of the arrangement she was all huffy about it and I don't think she believed me.

Oh well...at least it won't be a problem now. We've stopped the parking and the weeding for good.

Believe me also when I say that Hubby, and some friends that came over last night were all coming up with some awesome retaliation scenarios.

NONE of them would be carried out. But I'll list some of the one's that got the most laughs. Someone mentioned that we should go put a breeding pair of rats in her house and feed them for a while then complain to the HOA about a rat infestation.

Someone suggested we plant weeds in her rockery then complain to the HOA. One comment was to collect cat poo and stratigically place it around their homes. I could go on but I won't. It was kinda cathartic to vent like that...but the truth is we can't stoop that low.

Thanks for all the supportive comments and suggestions.

X2! Stop weeding her yard.. and cover yur butt. And then turn it right back on her...

We had a crazy neighbor, and there is just no pleasing them. We had dogs and we kept them in the house, only let them out to use the bathroom, kept the yard picked up scrupulously clean, and still she complained. She had just moved in there herself, and she never once spoke to us...and the kicker was, WE WERE MOVING. There was a FOR SALE sign in the yard, but apparently we weren't leaving fast enough.

Yeah, I'd have to say try house buns. I keep a herd of 30 animals going in my garagement (it's a garage/basment that you can park in dunno what you call it). The smell is non-existant because I clean once a week (takes about 15 minutes). They have A/C, heat, water, electricity, AND I've never dealt with flies. Ever. You can get a stacking cage system.

Also, then your neighbors won't know you're there. How are you going to do your meaties?
