More From my Hateful Neighbors

you got rid of the cat and they started on other things.,.., sounds like even if you got rid of all your animals- these folks would find something else to complain about - whatever you do - dont pass gas - they'll complain about that too

Thanks Connorm, a house rabbit isn't an option for us, neither is keeping them in the garage. What hubby and I worked out is this: We will keep my favorite breeding female, the other two will be sold to another breeder (got two of my first does from him). We will breed her when we want a litter for meat, raise them and no one should know about that. Since we'll have plenty of hutch space for the babies and we are going to put shade cloth up around our hutches, no one will be able to see inside. We won't be telling anyone we have baby buns. The reason people even knew about the rabbits in the first place was my Nice Neighbors were having a yard sale last week and I brought over a kit to show them....just so happens as I took it out of the basket that the neighbor who complained about the cat walked up and was "browsing" at the sale. She asked me what I had in my hand...I could hardly hide it at that point. Obviously from then she's told everyone about the rabbits and thus started the complaints about them.

Keep your rabbits, I can not see why they have to nit pick about everything. Jeez! What harm can a rabbit do?! now, I like your thinking about raising rabbits under the radar!

What I want to know is why you live somewhere where there is a HOA... I'm honestly asking. If you want animals, why even look in a place with a HOA when househunting? I pass over every single listing that has any restrictions at all because they can and do revise them later.

It just blows my mind that people (not just you or anyone in specifics) are willing to be told how to live... "for your own protection" is what they say... but in my experience growing up in a place like this, people break rules and get away with it and others get harrassed by the rules. It's all just a tool for harrassment.

My vote: move.

Someone basically asked the same question. The reason we live here is it's the best place for us at this time. We are just going to deal with this until we can move...we'll play by their rules until that time.

You didn't even make it far enough to read post #3 in a 3 page thread before commenting? If you had read, you'd have seen the answer.

I hope this nut never gets a spot on the HOA. Please shoot me if I ever think of moving to one of those mini police states. Thats what my DH calls them. I'm so sorry you have to stay there but i'm sure things will change I'll say a prayer for you and your bunnies.
