And, oh yeah, I have a number of Silkie eggs at the Post Office. NO WAY can we get out to get them now until Monday, if then. Our drive is pretty much nonexistent right now!

So I can worry about them, too.

My PO called at 8am to let me know that eggs had arrived for me. We couldn't get out of our driveway this morning, so there was no way for me to make it to the PO before they closed. I called 10 minutes after closing and asked the PO clerk to please take my eggs to the country store next door.
It was late in the afternoon before we made it into "town" (about 3 miles away) but my eggs were waiting for me at that country store.
Thank goodness!

That stinks! I hope the eggs are ok and its not too freezing cold in the po. I measured a few places as I ran/walked/fell frontwards and sideways/and slipped many times trying to get to my coops today to feed and water my babies. The deepest I measured was 23 1/2" I've never seen so much snow in my life! I guess we had a pretty bad 'blizzard' back in 1993 but I was about 14 yrs old and really don't remember too much?? This weather stinks!!!

I'm also stuck in my driveway....all you can see is a huge blob of snow with my SUV hiding somewhere underneath!

The plows came down our road around noon. Then my DH spent the next 3 hours shoveling and snow-blowing the driveway and a path to the barn/coops.
I braved it this morning to go out & feed the birds & horses. I was cold and wet up to my knees, but at least we were able to get out to the store later in the afternoon.
It would be horrible to be stuck at home when you know there are eggs waiting for you. They should be okay at the PO, though.
Good luck & stay warm!

Thanks for the good wishes.

I hope you are right and the eggs are ok.

I have seen this much snow, but then, I grew up in Montana. It is not a common occurrance in West Virginia. I noticed that the weather channel never even mentions us.

Virginia, MD., DC--poor old West Virginia doesn't exist!
