more protein during 9 week molt?

I believe my 4 sapphire gems are going through their 9 week molt - there are lots of random feathers around my yard (no patchy spots on them though). I've read when they go through their big molts in the fall you should give them additional protein, but do they need it now as well? They're currently on a starter/grower feed.

The starter/grower should provide enough for their juvenile molts. But you could give them some boiled or scrambled egg for animal protein.
