More questions and an update on my hen....

Well, the coup has pretty much been de-smelled : ) and she seemed nice and dry when I went and checked at her during lunch and last night.

So, if these do hatch...........I plan on switching her and the chicks to a brand new wire dog kennel (black powder coated).....I will take the hay out and put down a good amount of shavings...it gets down to the upper 60's at night - will she keep them warm enough or do I need a heat lamp?

I already have the chick starter (medicated) - can she eat the medicated too?

I think she's gonna be okay : )

I'm going to wait on the full bath until the chicks are born, she's doing well.

You do not need a heat lamp if the hen is to raise the chicks. Hens have been keeping chicks warm for thousands of years without heat lamps.

How often should I let her out to stretch, etc? I can go home at lunch .... so I could do it three times per day. I'm just hoping right now that these eggs do hatch. If I candle them now, will I see or feel any movement to know if there are live chicks in them?

Thanks for all the help, I'm a nervous wreck right now.

What about the medicated feed, can she eat that too?
