More silkies

[The Cave]

We got a couple of suspects lurking around hehe, no rooster antics yet compared to fellow flock mates of same age. 17 weeks old. What do you guys think?

I think the buff silkie is a female. The blue one also looks like a female.

This batch has some tricky ones, they are well bred, most have large crests. Look at this roo, his tail was a dead giveaway (also the crowing) but look at the puff !!

I'm thinking they may both be cockerels. It's looking to me like they have streamers coming off the back of the crest.

Although I've never had one I have heard of the rare occurrence of pullets/hens growing streamers. Given what I've seen so far breeding silkies I'd feel pretty confident in them being males based on the streamers but you never know.

They are beautiful birds!

IMO the bird with the most visible streamers is the buff. IDK about streamers on the blue silkie.

The more I look. The more I do wonder about the buff. Mainly looking at the back of the neck.
