More things to do with Black Jack 57?

I'm finishing out my coop, and have a 4x8' inside coop area (well, a bit more with nesting box) that I'm about to paint the (OSB) floor with Black Jack 57. I also will paint upward on the walls some (like a foot) to give a great barrier.

This is in Central Texas, so HOT summers, mild (but still cold) winters.

They only sold the stuff in 5 gallon buckets, though, so I'm wondering if anyone has ideas of other uses of this stuff. Maybe prepare some poop boards?

Absolutely. Use the #57 on the poop tray board as well as the inside of the nests - just in case of an egg breakage = easy to clean.

Not at all. IF MIXED PROPERLY BEFORE APPLICATION, it will dry like a high quality paint.

Thanks! Yes it took awhile with the drill-powered stirrer thing to get it all consistent, but seems to have dried super well. I did the floor of the coop and the nest box, and it feels great after a couple hours.

I had gotten one of the big utility brushes for spreading things like tar, but it turns out it was MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to apply it with a drywall taping knife. Just put a skim coat down, like with mud. Wowee.

I don't think that the coop would pass a seaworthiness test right now, but would probably be only two or three patches to get it there.

I'd been thinking about doing the roof, but right now it's the asphalt/felt, and then it's getting a metal roof over it (so many projects), and I think that the OSB stage makes sense to rubberize, but putting the rubber on the roofing felt seems like a questionable idea.

And for reference, it's somewhat humid, currently 103 degrees out, and the stuff dried HARD like rubber or paint. It took like 7-10 minutes mixing it with a drill-powered bucket-paint-mixer thing though to get it an even consistency.

Good deal! Yep, the key to this stuff is to MIX THOROUGHLY. Apply 2 coats to the floor, nest boxes, and poop tray (if you have those).

I don't have that kind of tool and even if i did, hanging on to it for 7 - 10 minutes is unrealistic with my busted-up shoulders. Can't Home Depot's paint-shaking machine mix it adequately so I can go home and slather it immediately?
