More TSC. Banties

My guess is that he is one of the Wheaten cubalaya that Cackle hatchery offers. Or, TSC may have placed him in the bantam bin when he is actually a smaller standard breed, which has happened more than once on this forum

I’ll keep you updated as he feathers out. I’m leaning toward OEGB.

From hatchery stock? He’s from Hoover’s, but I know that doesn’t mean anything, I got two gold laced banty Cochins last year.

Well I read on another thread that when they called TSC, they used different hatcheries each week, usually ordering from Hoover and Privett. Flappy doesn’t look like the chicks they have pictured for a Pyncheon, and I believe the crest you’re seeing is just feathers coming in like a Mohawk. He doesn’t have the bump like my other crested birds had.

I’m finding it really interesting that he was looking like he would feather out white, but so much red is coming in.

I wondered that about him not having a bump too. It'll be interesting to see how he turns out. Might even be a standard breed after all.

Alright, Flappy at 5 weeks. Definitely a Banty. Comb isn’t as pink as some of the partridge banties who are obviously male, and no waddles so far.

maybe a bantam easter egger hen. Maybe she will lay green eggs, but if not could still be an easter egger...looks like the crest went away. Most EE have muffs but some don't so that's my guess for now.
