Does anyone have any idea if mosquitoes are harmful to chickens? We have chickens ranging from 1 year to 14 weeks old. For SOME reason the mosquitoes are TERRIBLE this year and the coops are just filled at times.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I believe that mosquitos can transmit the illness called "Fowl Pox" to chickens. I haven't noticed them being really bad this year, where I live, but they always seem to bite me! I found this tip somewhere....can't remember where....If you will just keep a fabric softener sheet somewhere on your body, (any kind-generic even), the mosquitos don't like that, and you won't be bitten. So, I tried it out, only I rubbed the sheet on my arms, legs and neck.....Anyhow, IT WORKED! I wonder if you couldn't stash a few fabric softener sheets around in the coop and run.....

I am on my way to the coop with my Bounce! Thank you so much!!

Did the bounce have any effect in your coop?

And Chicmom, have the dryer sheets still worked for you since you tried them?

Yeah,..I'm interested to know if they worked too..
