Most broody breeds?

any recommendations on a very broody chicken breed? Preferably a large bodied one?

Cochins are good, and I had a Sex Link go broody once. But I don't know if they are breeds that generally go broody like Silkies or Cochins.

Thanks Yea I have silkies one very broody atm but just wondering if there were broody chcikens which are bigger who can sit on more eggs

Silkies and Cochins for sure. Orpingtons are supposedly chickens that will go broody fairly easily and they are fairly large bodied birds.

Buff Orpingtons and Black Australorp are two breeds I've found to be pretty steady brooders.

That's mostly up to the hen. Some are set at 6, some will hatch up in the teens. I once had a BA that would only sit 6-8, but I bought 12 chicks and she raised them happily.

Cochins, Orpingtons, Wyandottes, and Australorps. Although, keep in mind, it's never a guarantee and hens rarely go broody when actually want them to. And it's always a good idea to have an incubator and brooder on stand-by, just incase.

Defiantly black australorp nice big bird large eggs broody a lot good mothers and they are fairly nice.

I had a light sussex that would be broody about 60% of the year. She hatched a chick who ended up being the same way.
