Most docile rooster breed?

I can't recommend Light Sussex. I raised him from a chick, lots of handling, lots of treats. Gave him to my neighbour when he was a teenager and when she sent him back to me two weeks later, bloodied and dejected, I nursed him back to full health. Bought him SIX lovely young pullets of his own! Now he is two years old and I'm filling the bowls with grain and grapes and all good things. HELLO! What is with the nasty leg attacks mister?

Well I placed my order this morning----- a total of 16 chicks, the rooster I settled on is a Dark Brahma, the only rooster I have on order unless the "free surprise exotic" bird turns out to be a rooster then ill be ******! Total of 5 Brahmas, 3 buff orpingtons, 3 Ameraucanas, and 4 Columbian Wyandottes.....wish us lots of luck down the road for a friendly, yet protective rooster!

I know this thread is basically old as dirt but I didn't want to make a new post when this already existed! I'm looking to expand my flock by summer '18. I have three hens (Plymouth rock, Americauna, Wyandotte) and have been offered a Maran when the babies are older and my expansion on the run is complete. I'd also like to get a hen the same breed as one of my three girls and a rooster to go with it to add another aspect to my flock. I'd like to eventually sell hatching eggs and if time and space allows it also sell chicks. I know that my source for locally raised chickens wouldn't intentionally give me a mean rooster and would take him back if he turns into an @$$ but of the three breeds I've listed what would be recommended to an inexperienced chicken keeper? I've had hens for three years almost but I've not dealt with a rooster since I was young (under 10). Elena's Roosters have paid me no mind and are beautiful which is one of the reasons i'm wanting one of hers.

IMG_0329.JPG IMG_0330.JPG Here are 2 buff Orpingtons my husband just got. They did not know each other and one was a bit established with a bunch of buff Phoenix mixes and they are just hanging out like 2 bookends. My husband sort of went wild with gathering chickens that needed a home. I think the buff Orpington phoenix mixes are really interesting looking. The roosters names are Bill and Bob.
