Most docile rooster breed?

Golden Laced Wyandotte Roosters are not agressive, i've had 1 and he wouldn't flog anybody, but he would protect his hens from other roosters. and never get a Barred Rock rooster, they are ABSOLUTELY mean! I had one, he was 1 1/2 yrs old and he would attack anybody except me. which i liked.

but i was forced to sell him because he flogged a little boy in the back of the head and he bled pretty badly. then another time he took a hunk out of my neighbor's leg while she was weeding her flowerbed. and when anubody came within 100 ft of the coop he would start crowing and come running after them. but when i would go to the coop he would be so loving to me! and RIR's can be aggressive too.

Faverolles!!! Not only do I have 2 roos living together (the bigger one pulls the littler one off the hens if he tries to mate, but otherwise they are pals!) I NEVER have to worry about them around kids. I send my son into their coop all the time, I would not do that with ANY of the other roos I have ever had (besides Seramas). When I go in to feed them hens and roos alike walk across my feet, and let me pick them up. They come running to the fence whenever I come near. They break up bits of treats for the babies that are in there with them, and have been FANTASTIC with the chicks since day 1. They are simply amazing birds!!!!

I would also say that this does not necessarily hold true for hatchery Favs, but Fav breeders have bred for the temperament that the breed is supposed to have, and it shows!!

I have had large fowl and bantam Ameraucana roos, RIR, BR, bantam Cochins (2 of which were so mean they went to the stew pot), Chantecler (also super sweet), and currently have a d'Uccle roo that is on death row awaiting execution...NONE of them have been anywhere near the likes of a Faverolle!

only one has ever attacked me or my family and that stopped real quick. i turned my back and he attacked my son when he was 1, i grabbed him by his head and spun him and slammed it on the ground, and then butchered it(some bones were broken). i have never been challenged since.
oh it was a australorp.

Yep, I've heard different suggestions as to whether they should be held/cuddled as chicks or not and I've done both things. It didn't make a difference in the behaviors of these roosters. I know their temperment comes from the father.

Last year I had a red frizzled cochin rooster. He was the cutest thing but got picked on alot by the other hens so I rehomed him to a friends place along with one of his frizz cochin hens. Turns out within a week of being there he became vicious and mean to his hen so my friend had to separate them to keep the hen safe so it just goes to show, you never know. I think he was just around a year old when I rehomed him so he hadn't shown any aggressiveness while I still had him.
