We just hatched two chicks from our IB pair. One is regular IB, and one is white. Which is a more likely scenario? Are they both split to black shoulder and the baby is going to be BS, or could they both be split to white and the baby will stay white? Neither one of the parents has any white on them, not even a spot on their throatlatch. I'm leaning toward BS, myself, but I wanted to get input from those who are more experienced with breeding and genetics.

Post a pic of the chicks. I doubt the chick is White at all especially when neither of the parents are showing any white on them. Actual White and BS are very easy to tell apart even at hatch. Turn the chick over and spread the wing, the base of the flight feathers will be a light purple color. White chicks are white, BS are more of a creamy yellow.

Ok, it's black shoulder! I just had our daughter check and she said once she knew what to look for, it's obvious! Thanks! :)
