Most likely to go broody hens?

It depends on the hen, really. I too have heard that Silkies are great broodies. I have random hens who've gone broody, a Java, Barnevelder, Wyandotte, and a mutt. The heavier fluffy breeds are usually the ones who want to brood, so you might want to stay away from the flightier ones, like Leghorns.

Depends on the bird if she goes broody, for me my best sitters are silkies and my mixed bantams. I’ve had them sit on up to 15 eggs at once (bantam sized eggs) and they can sit on about 4-6 standard. Also had luck with gooses eggs under them (2 eggs is all they can handle)

I don’t recommend polish, Houdans, or if a bird has any ancestry of meat bird (they tend to smash the eggs)
