Most Moderate Climate States/Cities

Hawaii. Fairly consistent temperature year round and the trade winds help with the humidity. The downside is hurricanes and tsunamis, Maybe a volcano (depending on the island), the cost of living, and the remoteness make it almost a guarantee you're waiting for ANYTHING you want to order.

There are ups and downs to all the "moderate" places. You're trading off temperature ranges for things like population, cost of living, location, politics (they may have very different views) natural disasters, etc... Ideally, you have a summer place somewhere cool and a winter place somewhere warm and you snowbird between them. If you can manage to find them both close to each other, win.

AZ is like that. Winter in Phx, Summer up on the rim some place where the highs stay in the 90's and you get rain. I can be up the hill 1-2 hours away and it's a completely different world. And we don't have a lot of natural disasters. We have one dormant volcano, rarely a tornado (MAYBE 1 a year and they're like EF1), hurricanes even less frequently, the works. Cost of living is fairly decent for now, and even most of the most rural places in the state have decent amenities.
I think it really depends on where in Hawaii. Every time I've gone I've been stuck on Oahu, which is hot, humid, and has cockroaches that are big enough to carry you off in your sleep. I would be happy to never see Oahu again.

I've heard that the Big Island is quite nice, though.

Oh wow that sounds awful!

Never been, but hear Maui is fantastic!

True dat. Oahu is not my favorite island either. However, compared to summer in Phoenix or winter in Maine, it's got a lot going for it. :) So far the Big Island is definitely my favorite.

I feel like you would love a Wyoming summer - under 100 for most of the summer except maybe 1 week or so, dry but not to the point of drought, sometimes a quick rain cools things down in the evening. Cooler if you live somewhere in the mountains, of course.

But I don’t think you’d like the winter 🥶 -20s to -30s a few times a year, colder with windchill and there is snow. A trade off i am willing to make for not having a huge population though, traveling to work takes generally 15 mins or less and it is more affordable than a lot of the country.

Yeah I would definitely hate that winter!! LOL the rest seems great though!!!

I assume definitely not PA or OH because I have family in both of those plus lived there briefly and know about late effect snow!!! It is no joke LOL but what about somewhere like Virginia?
