The most expensive chickens I ever bought were a trio of Blue Cochins (LF). I paid $115 for them back in the late '80's. I think the most expensive birds in general that I ever had were a pair of Greenwing Macaws I paid $2,750 for. They never produced so much as one egg and the hen died within months of getting here!
