Most unusual punishment your parents used?

Being the only girl of four siblings, and the only girl of all the cousins, I usually got off pretty lightly. But Mom didn't care where we were, she always had a ready-made paddle....her shoes. she didn't think a thing of pulling off a shoe and whipping us with it if we'd acted up, no matter where we were. How embarrassing! My brothers got a few belt lickings, but I never did.

I got the curtain rod across the butt, Only twice though - during teenager times

My father had a wooden paddle that said "board of education" on it. (he was a teacher) he never hit us with it, but he always reminded us that it was in the closet.

Hoo boy, I've had a good laugh over these!

I guess the worst thing my mom ever did was wish, "I just hope you get a kid like you when you grow up!" Because I did!

No punishment ever really worked on me -- not grounding, not whipping (with a real whip), not spanking -- nothing. I would think, "Well, it's only going to really hurt for a few minutes," and go right ahead and do whatever I wanted. I have had to be very creative and very consistent with my DS because he is the same way.

Once, as I was about to carry out some promised response to an infraction, I asked my DS, "Now what kind of mom would I be if I didn't keep my word?" He answered, "Nice?"

Not a chance, buster.

Well, I for one would rather eat grass than liver an onions. Seriously. It wouldn't have to that fancy wheat grass they have at juice bars either. Liver and oinions- bleaaahhhh.

My lingering threat was that I'd hand my stepson a bag & tell him he could come back to the house when it was full of cockleburr plants. Sure needed those dug up... But he never misbehaved badly enough
