Ok, so I just realized that Wednesday is day 18 - not Thursday...

I took the eggs out of the egg cartons and laid them on their sides in the bottom of the bator. I added a bowl of water and some sponges to up the humidity. I am waiting for temp and humidity to come back up so I can bear to go to bed.

I'm on day 18 !!

Hate to burst your bubble, but you are supposed to stop turning at the end of day 18, not at 1 a.m. on the beginning!! But that's ok, it won't hurt them!

btw - I stuck a little statue of St. Michael, and one of another angel on top of the bator -

can't hurt, and it'll remind me not to open the lid.

my cabinate bator is popping babies all over. i had 44 eggs from my girls go into the hatcher and they r due the 12th and i got about 20 babies already they started hatching 2 days early, rotfl. yep once u start u'll never want to stop.

i got seramas, showgirls and silkies hatched and a bunch more pips to go and most all hatched out today in the cartons so it has been a long day. good luck and i hope u get as many fluff balls hatching out for u as mine have.

i still got eggs in the other sportsman yet too.

I have angels all over the house - they were probably hard to find when ya came over, I have a lot of them in cabinets. In the sewing room (changed slightly since you were there) I turned the long table into a Christian altar of sorts - it has a nativity, some statues, some cool looking crosses, my big cathedral window thingys I got at a flea market, etc... Of course, with the skeletons, animal skulls, and Voodoo paraphernalia around it, it is sort of a strange room to walk into.

I'm hard to pin down when it comes to religion. (and I avoid churches like the plague).

I wouldn't know what to do if I had to wait 21 whole days!! (or 19 in my case

) I always stagger mine, and right now I'm having to wait 2 weeks between hatches. Was gonna quit for the winter, but a hen went broody, so I figured if she thought it was ok to hatch, then why should I stop? You should see the chick she has!! It is my game Gretta, and her only living chick is in the brooder. I had 2 eggs that were due to hatch that I gave her. Of course they were bantams. I swear the chick she has is the tiniest one yet!! It is soo cute! One of these days I'll get back to your place for those packing supplies if you still have them! Or you and Cindy can bring them over when you come. Do you know if she's gonna take the chicks that I have saved for her? It didn't sound like it, since she is giving you her chicks. I don't know, need to ask her. Gotta find out if she still wants Duchess.

lol, i have yet to hatch more than about 175 eggs at once but with 2 sportsmans i bet i could do some damage if i really wanted to.

i have not been that brave yet but my dream is to someday fill both to hatch at once which i think is about 700 eggs give or take? not sure. i'd have to make sure i had paid orders first cause i'd not have room to be stuck with that many babies at once, lol.

i have bantam frizzled cochins but the little turkeys r on strike again.

what other good breeds ya looking fore? mabe we can all hlp enable ya more.

I still have the packing supplies, I'll keep them for ya. If we come over to go shopping (or whatever our Lady's Day Out turns into) I'll bring them along.

ETA - I think she said she was coming over after she is at my house, so I may send them with her so you have them sooner.
