I have a Swedish duck sitting on about 10 or 11 eggs. She has been sitting since the 12th (Yes easter) and the middle hatch date is on mother's day. I'm excited because we usually don't let our broodies hatch but I convinced my dad to let her. She's only rejected one egg and that was 5 days after she started sitting. I'm really hoping that they will all hatch, but even if they don't all hatch and we only get a few I will still be excited.

The other night when mama was off the nest we shut the coop and did a quick candle on all the eggs, all 12 were growing and I could see the babies moveing. It's so cool to get to see that. Of course when she saw the door shut she was being a bit loud but it took us less than 2 minutes to candle them and she went right back and sat on the nest.

Only a few more days till hatching. I moved the water and feed closer to her so she doesn't have to be off the nest much. she is still a mean mama. Yesterday one of our smallest ducks went broody and is sitting on a nest in the far corner of our pasture, you can see her if she moves but the tall grass hides her well.

YAY! What breed?
Those vibes were sent to YOU! Lol.
I just got done hatching Seramas and some adorable bantam Cochin Frizzles. I gave several away to friends and am currently raising 6. I already have a flock of 24!!! My husband is building an extension to one of my coops for Mother’s Day. Chicken math has bit me pretty hard.....
