mothers going to kill ducklings... Externally pipped!!! Please help!

I was going to upload the video's to YouTube but i'm not keen on putting all of my information to make an account for something I'm going to use once...
Anyways, the video's are basically of me telling the duckling to push and then he finally breaks free onto my hand...

Fair enough, ducklings can be hard work! Beautiful pics! Your brown momma looks like my Varia, Im still trying to figure what breed it is.
It seems to be working a charm with my girls... very careful of their babies.
But lately there was a dead duckling with it's face a neck on a strange angle... possible broken neck.
Maybe next ducklings I'll take away until they are stronger...

If you take the ducklings away your ducks will most likely not take them back so be prepared to intervene if you try. How many ducklings have hatched so far? and after the one freak accident has everything been going okay?

That's what I was worried about, I was going ot keep them until they are strong and fluffed up and then open a side door to the nest, and rub them against the other eggs or ducklings to transfer the smell and hopefully the ducks would think they've hatched...

The first one to hatch died and after the 2 alive ducklings another hatched, it coould have been deformed or had a broken neck but either way it died.

I would worry that all of the movement and coming and going around the nest would stress out mom. Next time, I'd just let them take care of it. If you want to have first hand experience watching ducklings hatch then artificially incubate the eggs. Most duck moms know what they are doing and are very capable of handling it. They will keep them warm and safe. Some are bad moms and will kill ducklings though I think this is pretty rare. My Muscovy hen has FINALLY started leaving her "babies". They are 8 weeks old now and I don't know if it's that she left them or they stopped following. LOL
