Here are photo's of Napoleon just went out and got. He has great type but when I try to ake photos you just can't see it.

His only proble is a split breat but it's not nearly as bad as Jelly's!

He is a most handsome man! I see him eying Peppermint! LOL

Gosh! I wish I could hatch out a blue Mottled roo! I keep getting pullets. Not complaining but a blue Mottled roo will be nice to add to my breeding program.

He looks nice, Stephanie! I didn't know you had blue Mottled. I thought you only had splash.

I found some old pics of Napoleon. He was 1 month and 18 days in these pics.


Here he is with his friend only 2 weeks at the time. Napoleon always watched out for this little fellow but he got snatched by a hawk!!

I don't breed Blue Mottled. I have him and a Blue hen to use in my Splash program. He doesn't have enough mottling to mess up my Splash. So he is with my Splash girls and the Blue hen is with a Splash boy. To keep color & type.

Really? I never would have thought breeding in Mottled to splash was a good idea.
I crossed mine but only for type and temperament. It really messed up pattern for both varieties but I wasn't worried since I use the offspring in Frizzle pens. I wanted color and odd patterns for the neat Frizzle birds.
What you are seeing expressed in Jeffrey is not what he will produce. Just because he doesn't look very Mottled does not mean he doesn't have enough to pass it on. What he has genetically could really mess up your splash pattern. He has really good type but I would suggest not using a Mottled in splash if you want your splash to be competitive.
Self blue is fine and would help with what you want in splash though.
That's my 2 cents worth anyhow.
