Mottled Java!!

My Mottled Java eggs are being shipped today! Very excited to get them set in my incubator along with Dominque eggs.

Here are my two mottled javas that I couldn't pass up when I went to pick up my feed order. Hatched April 24. Named Leah and Tinkerbell by my daughter. They have five toes....is this normal for Javas?

As far as I am aware, Java's are only supposed to have four toes.

Are you sure these chicks are MJs? They look like White Crested Black Polish chicks.

They are mottled Houdans.

That's hilarious! I really wasn't looking for a showy chicken. They do have a funny little head tuft that I was wondering about. The def have the Houdan feet. I guess I need to do some breed research now. Thanks!

I got a mottled java chick hatched 2/2/14, was supposed to be a hen but I am thinking it may be a rooster, it is very tall and has a long neck with curved tail feathers, any help would be appreciated.

We have one Mottled Java, we got her as a chick 3/29 at about a week old. Her name is Lovely because she was so sweet.

I've seen lots of pictures, know what color eggs they lay...but haven't seen much about their temperament. What are Javas like? I hope my chick calms down a bit. It's the most skittish, psychotic chick I've ever seen. Lol
