i thought spangled was white with black spots - like a spangled hamburg... is it really that different in OEG???

Spangled should be a bird with perfect v-shaped colour spot on the tip of each feather. On brown birds(russian spangled orloffs etc) its usually tri-coloured- brown feather, white v-tip with black edging between the white and brown.

Mottled is usually messier spots, not as uniform.

I'm looking for information about Spangled too so I found this thread.
I have an Araucana cockerel that has Spangling on his breast but otherwise sort of silver birchen. I'm wanting to know more about spangling, I'd like to learn how the gene works to be able to develop the spangling better

Here is the cockerel.

The "spangled" variety in OEGs is similar to the coloring of the speckled Sussex or Orloff (deep chestnut brown with white and black spotting). Mottled is going to typically be a black or blue base color with white spotting.
