I just picked up a hen and pullet yesterday (Raised together) and the hen is just a little over a year old. I got her home and noticed she is moulting? Is this normal?
Do they do it after they start laying or something?

They molt like any bird does. when exactly who knows for sure. I've seen where it's at the end of summer but if she's stressed that could be or it's just her time for new feathers.
Some of mine are a year old now and i haven't really noticed it yet but, one of our friends lost a older hen that molted rite at the begining of winter and it killed her cuz it gets cold where we are.
