From what i was told its throat had been ripped out thats all I was told, the thing is they found mountain lion tracks around it and the claw marks were deff mountain lion.

We se ur trail cams around the kill sight so we will see. as far as we know its not illegal to kill lions here so I think we have a "Man" hunt on our hands.

Please do not discount the fact that this could have been done by wild or domestic dogs, coyotes or wolves. My mom knew a family that had an Arabian foal viciously attacked by the family dogs resulting in death of the foal. From what I've heard about attacks from Mountain Lions on horses, they typically pounce on the animals back where they are less likely to be stomped or kicked. I would just hate to see a Mt. Lion killed for something it didn't do, I'm more of a trap and relocate type person.

Anyway, I hope you find out what happened and condolences to the people that lost the foal.
