Mountain Lion Kills Horse!

you leave the remains, in my experience i have heard my friend left the dead sheep and then the tracker with hounds followed the scent to the lion and shot it in the tree. advertise and hire a godo one. it helps

So sorry to hear about your horse

Mine are left with the entire yard if they're not locked in the barn. That way they have a place to run.

Maybe so... be sure before you kill the cat.

On post #12, you said, "From what i was told its throat had been ripped out thats all I was told, the thing is they found mountain lion tracks around it and the claw marks were deff mountain lion."

So do the wolves across the street have claws or the lion have paws? I'm sympathetic and hunter...but I'd make sure I knew what I was after before going out half cocked. Just saying.

Wolves couldn't have done it anyway! My horse has taken down bears and wolves without getting a scratch! And wolves dont go for the throat they will go for the legs of a horse. A mountain lion will either slit the throat of bite the throat/neck area.

Thats so terrible but I agree wolves go for the ankles so that they can down their prey and then the whole packs jumps on it. Mountain lions will go directly for the throat or back of the neck. I say go kill the lion or at least find it and scare the crap out of it so it never comes back!
