Well, I can't help with your face hurting but as long as your coop doesn't get too moist, you should be fine. In Alaska and South Dekota (Two very very cold places in America) some people don't even give their chickens a heat light of anything. The chickens just huddle together to keep warm and they are just fine.I'm really worried about my chickens, I don't want them to get frostbite. (I've put Vaseline on their combs and wattles.)
