Mountain Quail Arrived...

If you could get some pictures of the back of the birds head, and neck "mantel' area it would be easier to tell....that one pic with the light glairing off what looks like a stopsign in the
distance look female ...the hens have "blochy" olive brown color on the backs of their heads..and the males are gray-blue.. In a few weeks you will be able to tell easy enough..the males will start to call, a loud one sylable cherp..sound, almost like a tiny puppy barking. and the males start to strut around...but the females are the boss,and when they are ready to mate they
flatten themselves on the cage floor and call the male , with a rapid peep,peep,peep,peep sound....sometime you just have to go by actions and not the back colorations....I have lots of
pairs of mountainsand can tell about 80% by looks but not all ..... they are the best!
