Mourning dove x white dove BREED???

I saved a very small helpless wild dove 2 months ago. Hand fed it and used an eye dropper,now it's tame as can be. Could I get a mate for it? Will wild doves breed with tame white doves?

they will, but you may have some really screwed up genetic "curve balls" in your birds.

I have the same situation as you. Waiting for mine to reach sexual maturity so I can mate it to one of my ringnecks. They will breed, and will probably end up with some neat looking babies, but those will be mules.

I recall seeing a picture of such a crossing on Dr. Wilmers? Site....Then that man has done just about anything you could possibly imagine breeding doves and pigeons! It wasn't as pretty as one would imagine.

You probably already know this but pure white doves (not albinos) are generally ringnecks...If you look close you can still the ring because the feathers have a different pattern. If you did cross with a white I think the wild color of the ringneck would probably come out rather than white.
