Mouse in the coop.

I am in the process of introducing my young hens with the old flock. As I close them up in the coop at night, I watch them for a while to see how they are behaving. Last night while watching, I saw a mouse run across one of the rafters. I assume he is there to eat the chicken feed. While he is eating, I can imagine him also leaving his pee and poop in the chickens feed bowl. Can mice introduce diseases to my hens?

I have rats but I make sure I put the feed where they cant get it...try it i guess.

I would think any mouse brave enough to brave the coop has a death wish. My birds take every chance they can to display their T-Rex heritage. They are constantly catching field mice and eating them.
