I think so too. I would add that some blankets underneath the crates might be a good idea, so they rattle less. You didn't say what you'd have in there for bedding, but maybe put some old towels with pine shavings on them so it's not slippery underfoot? If you run out of blankets to have draped over, you can line the crates with large sheets of cardboard. That's how I turned a dog crate into a brooder for day old chicks.I think that if you have them in secured dog crates with food and water access, they'd be just fine.
