Moving an egg?

My ringneck dove layed an egg on the bottom of the cage. I had taken the nest out to clean and put it back in. Should I move the egg to the nest or leave it where it is?
I did move it to the nest for a few minutes but she acted like she was looking for it all over the floor of the cage, so I put it back. (I know probably too much handling now).

I would put it in the nest... It's unlikely she will continue incubating it, but it's unlikely it would even hatch on the ground.

Thanks! I moved it back to the nest. This time she saw what I did and settled back in on it

How many other eggs has she laid in the nest? Is this her first?

She's raised two clutches so far in the nest. One hatchling the first time, and two the second.
