Hello all! I have 36 meat chicks who are almost 2 weeks old now. They have been in my basement brooder and it stiiiiiinks to high hell. I want to get them moved out to my barn but it’s still a bit chilly here in Michigan. Next few days it’s in the low 40s and overnight in the 30s. My barn is draft free, of course, and I have up to 3 heat lamps I can put out there for them. Do we think they’d be ok out there? They’ve outgrown their current brooder and I really need to get them somewhere bigger.

I think it should be ok as long as there is heat, no draft and safety from predators. Just be sure there is space away from the heat too.

meat chickens have tendancy to not walk around much heck some will lay in front of food and not move it just makes them walk and get exercise
