3 days of you can stand your ground and not give in for 3 days it usually is better...... works for kids chickens ah prob the same

Yes...a jail, hospital, integration room, broody house.
You @woodenfarm have the space for this in your stall.
I highly recommend you make a permanent "area."

The opposite for me so far 24 girls 0 boys and I am hopping one egg makes it and it is a rooster

Our goal this summer or towards the end of it is to move the coop my father in law and I built that has the preteens in it down to that area and make a big run then there will be two coops.

I will work on broody hospital area
Got to talk my husband into it. He doesn't trust me with his power tools much.

This is the baby preteen area of holding it is in the field behind the big ladies area

I wanted to cry for the poor thing with no rooster to gave her eggs to hatch and her setting on nothing at times
So I say a broody area will happen after I see her with babies. Hoping some make it.

You have to keep in mind you can't let hatch more than you have space for,
and more males than you are willing to deal with.
Putting them in a broody breaker might make you cry too,
but it's better than having a crowded and male infested coop.
