I have 6 week old chicks living in my kitchen. I live in NY and would love to get them outside ASAP but I am worried it is still too cold. It is getting up to about 55-65 during the day and dropping to the 40s at night. They are mostly feathered (just some downy spots under their wings and on their heads) and the lamp is off in the brooder. Any thoughts on when it is safe to move them out?? Thanks so much!

I would start by putting them outside during the day (maybe just a few hours the first couple days) and leaving them out longer and longer so their bodies can adjust to the cold. I imagine by 8 weeks they should be ready to spend the night out there.... Maybe sooner :)
