Moving into a new house question.

I am moving and wondering how best too do so with out disturbing the chickens too much.
Like should I move them at night? morning? daytime?
Should I coop them up again, or just let them run around the new yard? Stuff like that.
Also they are large, should I put them in a dog carryer? or like a box that can't see out of? I am only going about 6 blocks with them, I can just walk down the street if I need too. Thanks for looking.

If your coop is already set up at your new place, then taking them over after dark (shouldn't be too hard since it gets dark so early now) and stick them inside - pet carriers in your car would be fine.
They'll adapt even if you take them during the day - but it'll be a lot more stressful for them.

If you move them I night(like i try to do). I then leave them cooped up for a day.
