A mister only really works well where the climatic humidity is very low.

Wetting the ground a bit (or dump a pile if ice cubes) in the shade can help in more humid climes, they'll dig into it and loaf there.
Lots of shade and ice in an insulated waterer are probably your best bets.

Yeah we have very low humidity, my chicks seem to love it! They get lots of ice and cold water also!
