I know you can have chickens in Bannickburn not sure of spelling or just where it is in Illinois. But I was told nearly all the folks out there raise chickens.

Amazing. And country towns can't see the benefit? Ha.Welcome. You could always move to the great city of Chicago. We can have chickens roosters and just about anything else.
As far as I know you can have chickens in any part of the city. A few years ago, 10+ a family had a rooster and they lived by Lincoln Park Zoo.I lived in Chicago for the first 22 years of my life and NEVER knew Chicago permitted chickens. However Chicago is HUGE and maybe the law just extends to certain areas of it.

There really isnt any farm animal we cant have in the city. Of course the proper care, amount of space and housing has to be provided. That alone would limit a lot of people. There is no slaughtering allowed, that would have to be done at an actual slaughter house so if you wanted to raise for eating that would be costly here.
I always say, we have the whole world in Chicago and that can and does include animals lol
