The coop is in the run, and they can go in and out of the door as they wish, do I need to actually close the door behind them all every night? Right now I have been still bringing the 2 in at night because its still getting in the teens, and I'm using the light in the brooder still for the other 9 chicks we have. But they are in the run all day long unless its below 30. Today is the first day I left them out in the weather, its raining, and about 40, but they don't get much rain under the deck. I've gone down a few times to check on them. They are either under the coop out of the rain or in the coop. So they seem fine in the weather. Now if it would just warm up to at least 40 at night I would leave them outside. But never thought I would have to completely shut them in the coop. I figured they would be fine, and they could wake up whenever they want too. Cause I really don't get up anytime before 8 am. And in the summer they will get sun starting at 5:30am in the location they are at.
