Moving to ireland

We are having a cold snap in Ireland and I ended up lining the walls of their house with rushes (we have loads of them) it definitely insulted it more and we put some black tarp type thing over the outside.

I know nothing about keeping ducks. I do know normal chickens are cold hardened and need lots of fresh air in winter too.

My ducks have fresh air but some of them are quite weak when it comes to keeping their body temperature up so I have to be really careful that they stay warm enough.
The house that they use to have in England was nice and warm in the winter but I haven’t had any time to winterise their house this year so I have had to improvise this year
I will get their house winter ready but I didn’t have the time to before this cold snap (it started on the day we moved in and ends I think it was Friday)

Can you add straw on the floor/ where the sleep? Straw is super for isolation.
