We are looking for some advice. We are a family of 6, 4 kids and two adults. My kids go back and forth on homeschooling, so we are interested in being in an area that has good schools, but we are looking for a place that we can also have back yard egg laying hens. My husband will be working in Kansas City KS, right by State line road (I'm not sure if that's the right name) and we have the option of moving to either state, which is nice since we can try to make the best decision for our needs, but since we are not from the area we are not sure which one meets our needs best.
Our main concerns are
1: schools in the area
2: laws and regulations concerning animals, chickens and dogs
At this point we've seen a house in overland KS that was on 1.24 acres of land, and we are going to look at a house in Shawnee KS with 2.4 acres of land. 1 house in MO with some land, but I don't recall the city name.
