Do to circumstances, the completion of the new coop was delayed so my peeps are getting crowded in the present pen. They were only to be in there a couple of weeks. I got 4 pullets at 6 weeks, they are 11weeks now. New coop nearing completion so it won't be long. I'm worried about stressing them out. First because they are getting cramped now and second for the move coming. I would like to do supervised free range but don't know when I should start it. Will they be so confused by moving that they won't return?

You're over thinking things. If you've got some yard work to do or a magazine to read let them out. They tend to be a little timid and clingy when they first start free ranging. They might only want to stay out for 20 minutes and often they are only within a few feet of the coop. When you move them just keep them in the new coop for a few days so they don't return to the old one.

You're probably right about over thinking all of this. Just don't want to make a mistake that will hurt my peeps. They will be fine. Once living quarters are complete and they've settled in I will let them out.
