@jolenesdad what are you using for feed? I have them on a 20% protein feed.

Same. I use a starter/grower the entire time.

I’ve raised Cornish to 9 weeks before so I thought I would need to take these to 12. Wrong. What’s interesting is that I slowed them st the start, but they caught right up to standard weights. I thought about adding oats to the food to go down to 16%, but I’m just gonna process early.

I’m thinking this fall I’m going to raise all 4 side by side for the same amount of time to compare the carcasses. Conventional, Robust white, royal and imperial.

The Robust white is pretty awesome. They’re built JUST like a Cornish but they are so active and range all over for me.

Chicks have always arrived in great shape. I ordered twice now from Moyers (last year and recently) no chicks have died on me due to Moyers. Last year I got two extra chicks. This year no extras were provided. I will be ordering at least once more if not two more batches this year from them. Usually the chicks ship out Monday and I get a call from post office Wednesday morning at 6am.

Last time was funny. I’ve never had 50 meat chicks (well, that amount of any chicks) sent to me. I think the meaties were pretty hungry. The post office called me at 3:30 am and gave me instructions on how to get to the dock before they opened and said I could come “as early as I wanted”.

They were SO loud when I picked them up. I still chuckle at that.

Anyway, yes they were in Great shape. I lost one 3 day old chick out of 52.

Freezer space yes.

Funny you mention the poop. I was just going to comment tomorrow in my post in my thread about their lack of poop compared to the Cornish. I’m really quite pleasantly surprised.

I weighed 5 Conventional Broilers yesterday as someone picked them up. 3 Roos & 2 Hens. Total of 40lbs live weight @ 7 weeks old. Very impressed.

Processed the last 3 conventional broilers last week. 2 males & 1 female.
Total time 7 weeks 6 days
Dressed weight
1 male = 7.2 lbs
1 male & 1 female = 6.4 lbs each

I have 10 red royals left to process in a few weeks. Question is as I have 9 cockerels and 1 hen. I was thinking of possibly keeping the hen. Has anyone done so successfully?
