Yeah they're all full grown and laying now! She's definitely a Spitzhauben. She's so pretty, they're like eye candy in my yard.

I think maybe she's a bad example of coloring for the breed? But she's really eye catching, so it doesn't matter to me.

By the way, I know she couldn't be a Polish because she doesn't have a vaulted skull and as a chick she didn't have a crest at first. You know how all the Polish have little cotton ball tops on their heads?

Wow, cwhit590 I think you are GREAT!!!! I am convinced that #1 is the German Spitzhauben. The others I agree are debatable. On #2 the legs are what throw me off, I know that hatchery birds can have off colored legs and are not necessarily true to breed, but I would have never figured I would have this much trouble detecting a breed. The Buff Chantecler I believe is also right. #4 Well it is definitely poorly colored right now, but I believe it is some sort of Wyandotte. Thanks for your help.

I got my gals from Meyer this spring, so I thought I would look in their catalog to see if that might narrow things down.

So you said you ordered the Rainbow Pullet Special from MPC? Thats interesting because the breeds you appear to have are under Meyer's Rare Egg Layer Assortment, not their Pullet Rainbow Pack...? Guess it doesn't really matter much...

Well keep us posted as they grow...I want to know what they turn out to be! It would be hard to pick and choose which ones to keep...I would want to keep them all!
