Are you thinking of getting Black or Mute swans? Some states require a permit for Mute swans with the state DNR, like here in Michigan, because they are considered an invasive species and they even have certain requirements if the are kept in an enclosure and they need to be pinioned. I doubt they have as many requirements in Texas for Mute swans.Oh dear, I certainly hope that isn't the case! Fingers crossed for the little ones! I thought you were incubating them. How many days does it take for a black swan to hatch? Also I would love to see your setup for your swans. I have plans to get a 'couple' soon, and would like some ideas on housing. : )

In general I think the big differences in providing for swans compared to geese is swans have a greater need for spending time in water that supports their body weight.
