now that my battery is all charged I am gona put pics of them all on there own on my post.

now off to take pictures

Ok, new pictures.
The skinny cream-colored bird with no stripes is Helga, the potential cochin who was stuck to her shell last night. She's had vitamins last night and this morning and seems to be doing okay. There are 5 striped EE's, but they hardly ever stand still to be in the same photo. The little dark one is Silence. I'm hoping she's doing okay when I get home....

Can't wait to see pics. I hope they lay some pretty colored eggs for you when the time comes.

They sure are a pretty color. What do the parents look like? It's always interesting to see what EE looks like. I just love my EE girls.

I'm off to the farm to drop off the boys. Very sad, very sad!!!!!!!

I've kinda gotten used to seeing them free range all over the yard. So beautiful...wish I could keep them.

OK, I'll check later for a pic of the other new babies. Can't wait to see Silence.

Smitty's these are going to my friend Cindy, so I'll hear about the future eggs but probably won't see them. And I've heard the parents described but not seen a picture. The EE parents belong to the grandson of Ms Lewis Rich. They sounded pretty!!

Smitty, I know you're sad about the boys now. Trust me, after a week you'll only feel relief that they are out of your hair. Life will be way simpler. And they are going to a farm, not a freezer, which is ALWAYS a plus!

I'll get a better picture of Silence later tonight. She ducked whenever the camera blocked her view of my face. Kinda cute

Lori what do you think that skinny lookin chic is???????? He told me there were cochin RIR and polish in the 12 I got from him, the blk. chick is none of the above LOL
Yes the EE chicks are a riot, so much fun to watch and I dont think you could kill them with a stick. Sooo healthy.

To answer Smittys question I think we still had both Roosters a month agoone had to be rehomed, but the Roosters were rumpless and the girls have tails bearded and muffed varying colors Wheaton, blue, red.)

I was hoping you shed some light on my little mystery chicks! So I may have a polish chick? Do they have feathered legs? Extra toes? Gues I have some on-line searching to do.
He has no chickens with 5 toes, or no silkies?

Helga definitely has feathered yellow legs but only 4 toes. And she's so small compared to the EE's. Definitely closer to banty than standard at the moment.
Silence definitely has 5 toes, but I don't remember seeing any feathering on them. But she was awfully sticky still when I added her to the brooder. I'll check for feathered legs again this afternoon. And the dark top but yellow chest has thrown me on Silence as well. Don't know what she could be... And to be so totally quiet. If s/he never makes a peep, and is a roo, s/he'll be the most desired roo in TN!!!!

I'm so glad my 2 little mysteries even hatched. They were older eggs, so it doesn't surprise me that they both needed a little help to hatch. Can't wait to play with them some more. Helga broke my heart last night trying to run to me rather than hanging with the other chicks. Guess she's over that because she cuddled right up with them when I took pics this morning.

The young man the mystery eggs came from lets his birds free range on a corner lot by a busy road. He has many many different breeds mostly Bantams and its funny the breeds seem to stay together according to breeds in groups of 8 to 15 birds . So those two could be anything!!!!!He did tell me they would be purebred. How would he know.? Well we will have fun trying to figure it out. He had buff brahmas bantams thats a possibility for Helga. Hey I have a Bulldog I bred and is being shown named Helga.

Helga had the shell stuck to her head, so we were calling her helmet head for a while. I thought we'd name it Helga or Helmut depending on the sex. And since we want all pullets (LOL) she's Helga!

I've noticed my chickens try to group by color/breed. Except for my oldest d'uccle. She's in love with a gray silkie. Gonna have to break them up!

Buff Brahmas but no silkies. Wonder how Silence got 5 toes? Maybe a Silkie roo crossed the road

Oh! I thought he didn't have any silkies. Well then that's probably what Silence is. I'm not used to them being so quiet.

I looked up Polish and definitely no fuzzy feet. So Helga is most likely a Buff Brahma.

The kids get home in 45 minutes, so I'll have an update on how everyone is doing.
