Thanks so much how much of the denegard would you recommend orally i did buy itIt sounds more like MG (mycoplasma gallisepticum) than MS, if you are not seeing swollen joints or limping. MG is fairly common in backyard flocks. Some people cull birds who are showing symptoms, while others treat with support and sometimes antibiotics, such as Tylan (tylosin.) Tylan 200 injectable is probably better for turkeys who are heavier and need higher dosages. There is a 7 day withdrawal for meat and eggs after completing Tylan. Dosage of Tylan 200 is 0.25 ml or 1/4 ml per every 5 pounds of weight. You may give it orally or by injection into the breast muscle twice a day for up to 5 days. Since it can cause muscle damage to the site, I would try it orally. Tiamulin or Denagard may be an even better drug for MG, but it needs to be ordered online. Get them drinking plenty of water. Clean the eyes with saline, and you may also use Vetericyn Eye Wash/Gel or Terramycin eye ointment into the eyes after removing pus. MG is a contagious disease spread through hatching eggs and by contact with a carrier bird. It dies in the environment within several days of all birds (including chickens) in a flock.
